I couldn’t help but play with super sculpey firm again today. I’ve no idea what I’m doing, and I promise I’ll stop.

and this was before I realized that you need to cook the eyeballs first, seperately. So they’re flattened.

Thanks for looking!

Nothing cheers one up like finding out that your work is now in Walmarts across the country. I’ve been waiting for over a year for this drawing to show up on one of their new packages. They purchased the rights for three images, but this is the first one I’ve seen out. Originally this was going to go on a different kit, but I’m just glad to see it in-store.

I’ve no idea what I’m doing with Sculpey, but I played around for a while. I might do some limbs and hands and then put something together with fabric, but in order to do that I’d have to plan a bit more, and by the time I do that I’ll end up wanting to redo the head anyway.

So, it might just end up staying as a pencil topper.

I don’t think I can get away with naming this ‘The Donkey King Returns to the Sea,’ but until I get that kind of pretentious absurdity out of my system, it’ll stand.
This is just a quick oil-sketch rip-off of Daubigny’s The Lone Cow, which I think should be named The Cow Princess Returns to the Sea. I really didn’t spend enough time on this, but I kinda like it.

I think I’ll turn one of these squirrels into a pen and ink, but I’m not sure which.

I drew this elfin lad/lass in colored pencil and rubbed it out using alcohol on a cotton swap. Then, I redefined and repeated. In the end I pulled out the lights with a kneaded eraser.

This is for the Character of the Week contest over at ConceptArt.org. The topic for the week was:
Petra Hepburn Sixties supermodel. Petra is an appalling example of how fashion superstardom can go to your head. She indulges herself in all the latest trends and vices of her age, and hangs around with the ‘in’ crowd of Sixties New York. (Warhol etc) Indulged and decadent, she knows no limits.
Examples of strong sixties female characters: Julie Christie, or Twiggy, Jane Birkin, Jean Shrimpton, Marianne Faithfull, Edie Sedgwick, Mary Quant, Diana Ross etc. For a good ’sixties look’ think Linda Harrison as Nova in Planet of the Apes. Also think of movies like the original Casino Royale or even Austin Powers.
Your concept should include a feel for the sixties, but exageration is the key. Also concentrate on character and personality as well as ‘the look’. And remember to think outside the box!
Topic elements:
1 = Sixties
2 = Supermodel
3 = Trashy!
I had a great band-poster style frame/border in mind, but there’s not enough time. So, here it is (pending fixes up to the deadline)

just some idle sketchwork… I’ll be starting something bigger to start and finish over the long weekend, but I’m not yet sure what.
paint is Painter IX over the sketch

I’m bugged that Angelina named her latest Pax. I was damned happy with it after having scoured my latin dictionary. Nonetheless, I named her weeks ago, and I’m sticking with it.
added colored pencil and some Painter IX to the Pax concept sketch just to force myself to follow through
